The licensed features Assure System Access Manager (SAM) and  Assure Secure File Transfer use IBM i exit points. If you use these features and run other applications on the same system that also use IBM i exit points, you may need to end those other applications before upgrading Assure Security.

If you have other applications that use exit points also used by Assure System Access Manager, end those applications now.

The Prepare to upgrade an instance checklist, will direct you when to end Assure System Access Manager. Deactivating or activating a program on an exit point often requires that services or servers on the IBM i system are stopped and restarted. Therefore, you must end any other application programs using exit points which support multiple exit programs that are also used by Assure System Access Manager. One such point, QIBM_QCA_RTV_COMMAND, supports a maximum of ten retrieve command exit programs for each command. For a list of the exit points used by Assure System Access Manager and their restrictions, see the Assure System Access Manager User Guide.
