To use the Assure Security Installation wizard to install a new instance of Assure Security on one or more nodes (systems or partitions), do the following:

  1. IMPORTANT! If you have not already done so, it is very important that you complete the instructions in the Prepare for a new instance checklist to prepare your environment for a new instance of Assure Security.

  2. If you haven’t already, download the Assure Security installation wizard for this service pack from Support to a PC.

  3. Double-click on the wizard’s exe file to start the wizard.

  4. On the Welcome panel, click Next.

  5. The Terms and Conditions panel appears. Select the check box to accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next.

  6. On the Select Product panel, select Assure Security (recommended) and click Next.

Note: When you select this option, License Manager is automatically installed or updated as needed if it already exists on the system.
  7. On the Installation Options panel, select Create a new installation and click Next.

  8. On the Specify Language panel, select the language for the Assure Security installation and click Next.

  9. The Specify Nodes panel appears. Do the following to identify one or more nodes on which to install the product:
    1. In the Node or IP address field, specify a valid node name or IP address and click Add.
The wizard verifies that the specified node exists on the network and adds the node to the panel.
    2. If you plan to install the product on multiple nodes, repeat the above step as needed.
    3. When you have identified all nodes, click Next.
  10. The Node Login panel lists the selected nodes. A blue box  next to a node identifies a node for which you must specify credentials. Specify a user ID and password for the node and click Log In.
Note: The specified user must have *SECOFR or equivalent authority.

If there are multiple nodes listed and the node for which you are specifying credentials is not the last node to be logged in, the wizard will log in the user and refresh the panel so that you can log in to the next node.

  11. The Specify Installation Library panel appears. Either accept the default name for the product library or optionally specify a new name with as many as 8 characters. If you are installing the product on multiple nodes, the same installation library name is used on all nodes. Then click Next.

  12. Several panels appear temporarily while the wizard retrieves information and validates the service pack files. No action is needed unless an error message is displayed.
  13. The License Keys panel appears. Choose one of the following:
    • The preselected option, Automatically check license keys, allows the wizard to automatically upload necessary information to request license keys and to download and apply the keys. This requires an Internet connection.

    • If you already downloaded license keys, select Specify the location of my license keys, and either specify its location in the Location field or click Choose to browse to its location on the PC.

    Then click Next.

Note: You may see additional panels that require responses if you do not have an Internet connection or if there are other errors associated with license keys. If you are installing new instances of Assure Security on multiple nodes, you must either successfully apply license keys for all nodes or you must continue to install without keys for all nodes. The process to install a new instance can be completed without license keys, but the product will not function until keys are applied.
  14. If the Existing Files Found panel appears, the wizard found installation files for this version of Assure Security on one or more of the selected nodes. The default option replaces the existing files with the installation files packaged in the wizard. Select the option you want and click Next.
  15. Several panels may appear temporarily. No action is needed unless an error message is displayed.
    • The Copy Product Files panel appears while the wizard copies files from the PC to the first of the selected nodes.

    • If you are installing on multiple nodes, the Distribute Files panel appears while the wizard copies files from the first node to the other selected nodes.

    • The Installing panel appears while the wizard installs License Manager and Assure Security on each node, and applies license keys.

  16. When the Installation Cleanup panel appears, specify whether you want to delete the installation files and click Next.

If you select Yes, an additional panel allows you to select which versions of installation files to delete from the nodes. Make a selection and click Next.

  17. The Summary panel appears, identifying the nodes on which Assure Security was installed.  To exit the wizard, click Done.
  18. Continue with the instructions in Post-new-install actions checklist.
