IMPORTANT! If you have not already done so, it is very important that you complete the instructions in the Prepare to upgrade an instance checklist to prepare your environment for an upgrade. Ensure that you have ended activity for the product instance being upgraded, have ended the product’s subsystem, and have ended any other subsystems or jobs that use the Assure Security or Cilasoft products. If the product library being upgraded is on a system or partition that is part of a replication environment, ensure that you have ended replication activity.
If you are using Assure Multi-Factor Authentication with Enforcive Enterprise Security, run the following command:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(BSFAPCH)
Log in to the system or partition using the QSECOFR user profile or a user profile that has security officer classification and all special authorities. Logging in just before starting the software upgrade causes the generated job log to be limited to just the installation process.
Set the message logging level of this job based on your preference. For maximum logging, use the following command:
CHGJOB JOB(*) LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES)
- If you are using a CD to upgrade, do the following:
- Load the CD into the system’s optical device.
- Specify the name of the device from which you are installing for device-name in the following command and press Enter.

) - Then skip to Step 6.
- If you are upgrading using a STMF, do the following:
- If you haven’t already, download the stream file for this service pack from Support to a PC.
- Transfer the STMF to the system or partition where you plan to upgrade.
- Enter the command:
LAKEVIEW/INSPRD
- The Install Precisely Product display appears. Do the following:
- At the Stream file prompt, specify the name of the STMF you downloaded.
- At the Installation Library prompt, accept the default value, *SELECT.Note: If you are an experienced users who is upgrading an Assure Security instance to a more recent service pack level, you have valid license keys, and you want to keep configuration data and run the upgrade process without further interaction, you can specify the name of the installation library. The next screen you see will display completion messages as described in Step 12.
- Press Enter.
- The Precisely Common Install display appears with a list of products displayed. To upgrade an existing product, typeThe last row is an example of how an existing installation of Assure Security may appear (its library name may be different).You may see other products listed on this display.

(Install/upgrade) next to the existing product installation you want to upgrade and press Enter. If the Precisely License Agreement appears, it is recommended that you read through all pages. Press
F16
to accept the agreement.Note: If you decline the agreement (F12), a cancellation message is displayed and you are returned to the Precisely Common Install display.- If you see one of the following displays, you must obtain valid license keys:
- Update License Keys display - License keys are required to continue. The display identifies the location of the license request package (LRP) and the website to which to upload it. Once you have downloaded the resulting license key package (LKP) and transferred it to the recommended location identified on the Update License Keys display, press F16 to continue. Specify the location of the LKP on the Apply License Keys display and press Enter. If the LKP contains valid license keys for the product you are installing, the install process continues. If the license keys are not valid, contact Support.
- License Keys Not Valid - The display identifies the reason the license keys are not valid. You either must cancel the install request or obtain a license key package (LKP) before continuing. Once you have an LKP, press F16 to continue. Specify the location of the LKP on the Apply License Keys display and press Enter. If the LKP contains valid license keys for the product you are installing, the install process continues. If the license keys are not valid, contact Support.
- The Install Precisely Product (INSLKVPRD) display appears. Do the following:
- Confirm the value of the Product prompt. For Assure Security, the expected value is *SECURITY.Note: If you selected an existing product in Step 6 but the Product prompt displays the value *LICMGR instead of *SECURITY, the installation process determined that License Manager must be installed or upgraded before the product can be addressed. If this occurs, press Enter to allow processing to continue. After License Manager is successfully installed or upgraded, you will see the Install Precisely Product display again with values for the Assure Security product.
- At the Installation library prompt, verify that the name is what you expect.
- At the Keep current configuration data prompt, accept the default value *YES.
- To start the installation process, press Enter.
- Confirm the value of the Product prompt. For Assure Security, the expected value is *SECURITY.
Processing checks to see if there are locks on product objects in the product library. If locks are found, you will see message LVE1005 "Product installation is in use." To determine which objects have locks, refer to message LVE1019 in the job log.
- Depending on your choice for Step 6, you may see one of the following additional displays.
- If you selected a product but License Manager was installed as a prerequisite and the product license keys are not valid, you will see the License Key Failure display. Return to Step 8 to obtain the keys and continue with the install.
- If you selected a product but License Manager was installed as a prerequisite and the product license keys are valid, you will see the Install Lakeview Product (INSLKVPRD) display. Return to Step 9 to specify the information for the product.
When the product and License Manager (if necessary) have been installed, the Precisely Common Install display appears and completion message LMC0002 appears at the bottom of the display. The installed version shown for the upgraded product instance is updated.
Log off the system, then log in again. This limits the job log to the actual installation process.
If you are using Assure Multi-Factor Authentication with Enforcive Enterprise Security, run the following command:
