The authority requirements for shipped objects owned by Assure Security are set during the installation process. Changing authorizations on any Assure Security objects is not supported and may cause failures for many of the Assure Security licensed features.

Objects in the Assure Security product library and secondary library have the following standard authority requirements:
  • Object owner = the Assure Security Owner, which is the same name as the product-library
  • Authorization list = the same name as the product-library
  • *PUBLIC authority = *EXCLUDE
  • Owner authority = *ALL

To run correctly, several licensed features of Assure Security require *PUBLIC *USE authority for specific, critical objects in the product library, the secondary library, and the product IFS directory. These include the library objects, exit programs, and Send (SNDnnnn) commands and programs.

Authority to the affected Assure Security objects is set correctly during the product installation. Any modifications to the authority of product objects are not preserved when the product is upgraded. If you modify authorities to the product’s objects from their provided values, there is a significant risk that licensed features of the Assure Security product will no longer function and may adversely affect system activity or cause the system to become unusable.
