There are some cases in which Assure MIMIX Promoter may not be able to remove a temporary journal that it created. In the following cases, Assure MIMIX Promoter does not manage the new journals. You should ensure that the journals are either managed or removed:

  •    If Assure MIMIX Promoter is unable to delete a temporary journal that it created, it sends an inquiry message. If you respond to the inquiry message with the option of leaving the temporary journal, you will need to manually remove the journal.

  •    If a Assure MIMIX Promoter job was submitted to batch and was unable to obtain a needed exclusive lock, processing for the job will continue and an informational message will appear in the QSYSOPR message queue.

  • If an initial program load (IPL) is performed while any Assure MIMIX Promoter function being active, any temporarily journaled files will remain journaled.

Assure MIMIX Promoter may not be able to remove temporary journal objects in use if an unexpected system IPL occurs. You should only delete these temporary objects when this situation occurs.

Assure MIMIX Promoter temporary objects are named in the format XxYyNnnnnn where:

Xx can be one of the following:

  • PJ - a temporary journal, as well as temporary journal receivers

  • ## - a temporary library

  • PQ - a temporary user queue

  • PS - a temporary save file

  • PF - a temporary file

Yy is a unique two character designation. Values can range from 00 through ZZ.

Nnnnnn is a character representation of the job number of the Assure MIMIX Promoter process creating the object.
