The value *ATTN can appear in each column of the Work with Application Groups display to indicate that user action is required to correct a problem.

Important! Check the status of the AG Proc Status column and address any problem indicated by *ATTN or *ACTIVE status before attempting to resolve any problem reported in other columns. Use Resolving a procedure status problem reported for an application group.

If there are no procedure problems, each of the other columns with an *ATTN status must be addressed individually, starting from the left-most column.

*ATTN Status in Column

Description and Actions for *ATTN Status

App Status

The App Status column provides an indication of status for activity which occurs at the IBM i cluster level when an application resource group has been configured.

App Node Status

The App Node Status column is a summary of the status of the nodes associated with the application group. The summary status includes the node status within the application CRG as well as status for all the MIMIX system manager, journal manager, target journal inspection, and collector services jobs for the nodes in the application group.

*ATTN indicates that the node status and the MIMIX manager status values do not match. Investigate the status of the associated nodes and MIMIX managers using option 12 (Node entries). Then use Resolving status for node entries.

Data Rsc Grp Status

The Data Rsc Grp Status column provides a summary of status for the data resource groups associated with the application group.

*ATTN indicates a problem that requires user action. Use option 13 (Data resource groups) to determine which data resource group has a value for Resource Group Status that does not match the other data resource groups in the application group. See Resolving status for data resource group entries.

Data Node Status

The Data Node Status column is a summary of status of the nodes associated with the data resource groups defined to the application group.

*ATTN indicates either of the following:

  • There is a mismatch between the status of the nodes for the data resource groups associated with the application group.

  • There is a difference in the recovery domains of the application group and a data resource group.

Use option 13 (Data resource groups) to begin investigation. For additional information, see Resolving status for data resource group entries.

Replication Status

The Replication Status column is a summary status of data replication activity for the data resource groups associated with an application group.

*ATTN indicates that data replication for at least one data group in the data resource groups has one or more of the following conditions:

  • Is active with an incorrect source system

  • Has a status that does not match the status of the appropriate data resource group

  • Has a failed state

  • Has an error condition

  • Has a process other than apply that is inactive during a virtual switch (possible only in *NONCLU application groups)

  • Has audit errors

  • Has pending recoveries

To determine the cause, use option 13 (Data resource groups) to identify the data resource group where the problem exists. Then use Resolving status for data resource group entries.
