One reason for using a replication product is to provide the ability to perform regularly scheduled backups of mission critical data to protect from accidental corruption or destruction. Usually, backups are scheduled on a target node so that the source node is continuously available for production usage. To enable a non-dedicated backup routine to run successfully, target node processing must be ended in a way that establishes a known synchronization point and releases any object locking conditions created by MIMIX.
In a clustering environment any node can become a source node for the remaining target nodes. Of the many potential *ENABLED data groups, only those which reference the node on which the backup will be performed need to have their target processing ended.
From the node to be ended, run the following command:
installation_library/ENDMMX ENDOPT(*CNTRLD) ENDRJLNK(*NO) SYSDFN(*LOCAL)
Where installation_library is the name of the library in which MIMIX is installed.
