When the journal manager status for a system on the Work with Systems display (Figure 35) has a value of *INACTASP, *JRNRCVCNT, or *RCYASP, that system has a potential problem with the amount of storage being used by the system auxiliary storage pool (ASP 1). MIMIX determined that the actual storage usage on a system exceeded values specified in policies for system ASP threshold warnings (RCYASPTHLD policy).

*INACTASP or *RCYASP - The storage used by ASP 1 on a system that is the source system of a data group exceeds the value of the system ASP threshold warning policy for delayed data recoveries. As a result, the replication manager (MXREPMGR) has delayed processing new recoveries for member data of *FILE objects to avoid adding potentially large amounts of additional journal entries associated with these recoveries into the user journal on a system that is already storage-constrained. Other recoveries are active. This condition can occur when the journal manager is active (*RCYASP) or inactive (*INACTASP). When the percentage of storage used by ASP 1 falls below the threshold policy for delayed data recoveries, MIMIX will automatically resume processing the recoveries that have been delayed.

*JRNRCVCNT - The storage used by ASP 1 on a system exceeds the value of the system ASP threshold warning policy for delete-eligible journal receivers, and the number of journal receivers on that system exceed configuration requirements. The excess detached journal receivers may be eligible for deletion. Extra receivers that MIMIX no longer needs and that are not needed for other purposes should be deleted to free storage space in ASP 1.
