In environments with application groups, the Notifications field located in the upper right corner of the Work with Application Groups display indicates the highest severity level of new notifications for the MIMIX installation.

You can see a count of how many new notifications require action or attention for a MIMIX installation from the Work with Data Groups display.

Do the following:

  1. Optional. To access the Work with Data Groups display, either select option 6 from the MIMIX Basic Main menu or select option 1 from the MIMIX Intermediate Main menu and press Enter.

The Notif. field is located in the upper right of the display. The third number identifies the number of new notifications that require action or attention.

Highlighting on the Notif. field indicates the severity of the errors.

Red - At least one notification with a severity of *ERROR exists. Action is required to resolve the error.

Yellow - At least one notification with a severity of *WARNING exists. Investigation may be necessary. An operation completed but an error may exist.

  2. Do one of the following to access the Work with Notifications display:

    • From the Work with Application Groups display, press F15 (Notifications).

    • From the Work with Data Groups display, press F8 (Recoveries), followed by F10 (Work with Notifications).

    • From a command line, enter the command WRKNFY.

The list is sorted so that new notifications appear at the top. The list includes notifications from all sources.

  3. To see details for a notification, type a 5 (Display) next to the notification you want and press Enter.

Note: Notifications from audits are automatically set to a status of acknowledged. Audit status and results should be checked from the Work with Audits (WRKAUD) display.
  4. Once you have resolved the problem identified by a new notification, you should use option 46 to acknowledge that the reported problem has been resolved. Once acknowledged, its severity is no longer reported in status information.
