During normal operations, if you use audit options that check less than 100 percent of the data, you have an increased risk of having data that is not synchronized. This is not desirable when you need to switch.

Regardless of the values you use for audit options during daily operations, Precisely strongly recommends that you run all audits using auditing option values that perform the most extensive checking:

  • Before performing a planned switch to the backup node

  • Before switching back to the original production node

Use these instructions to run all audits for a selected application group or data group in a way that checks all replication-eligible objects and uses the most extensive checking possible in auditing options. These instructions do not require any changes to existing auditing policies.

In most cases, you want to run the audits from the management system. Policies determine whether a request to run an audit can be performed on the requesting system.

Do the following:

  1. From the MIMIX Intermediate Main Menu, select option 6 (Work with audits) and press Enter.

  2. Do the following to select all audits for each enabled data group within the application group that will be switched:

    1. Type option 39 (Run rule with override) next to an audit for a data group in the application group that you want and press F4 (Prompt).

The Run Rule (RUNURLE) display appears.

    2. In the Rule name prompt, type a + (plus sign) and press Enter. Specify the name of the additional audits. Press F4 for a list of values.

    3. In the Data group definition Name prompt, specify *ALL.

    4. Verify that the value *ALL is specified for the Override audit policies prompt.

    5. Press Enter.
