Precisely strongly recommends that you take manual corrective action to address the underlying problem when objects have recovery actions that failed to recover a detected problem.

There are times when customers simply need to continue operating without MIMIX reporting failed recoveries as error conditions. An example of when this may be appropriate is when a data group is intentionally set so that the automatic recoveries policy is disabled. An option available on several displays for working with file and object activity allows you to have MIMIX change the failed recovery status to Acknowledged and no longer report the affected failed recoveries as error conditions:

Note: Acknowledging failed recoveries for an object changes the recovery status of all failed recoveries that exist for the object at the time the acknowledgment is requested. Acknowledging failed recoveries does not correct the underlying problem that the recovery attempted to resolve. The object remains not synchronized, and the error condition may recur and be detected again.

To acknowledge failed recoveries for an object do the following:

  1. Access one of the following displays:

    • Work with DG File Entries (WRKDGFE command)

    • Work with DG Obj. Trk. Entries (WRKDGOBJTE command)

    • Work with DG IFS Trk. Entries (WRKDGIFSTE command)

    • Work with DG Activity Entries (WRKDGACTE command)

  2. Type 18 (Ack failed rcy) next to the entry with failed recoveries and press F4 (Prompt)

  3. The Acknowledge Failed Recovery (ACKFAILRCY) display appears. Optionally, specify a reason the object’s failed recoveries are being acknowledged in the Reason field.

  4. Press Enter.
