The initial synchronization ensures that data is the same on each system and reduces the time and complexity involved with starting replication for the first time.
Ensure the following conditions are met for each data group that you want to synchronize, before performing the initial synchronization:
-
Apply any IBM PTFs (or their supersedes) associated with IBM i releases as they pertain to your environment. Log in to Support and access the Technical Documents page for a list of required and recommended IBM PTFs.
-
Journaling is started on the source system for everything defined to the data group.
-
All replication processes are active.
-
The user ID submitting MIMIX SYNC commands has *MGT authority in product level security if it is enabled for the installation.
-
No other audits (comparisons or recoveries) are in progress when the synchronization is requested.
-
Collector services has been started.
-
If DLOs are identified for replication, before running the synchronization request, ensure that the DLOs exist only on the source system.
While the synchronization is in progress, other audits for the data group are prevented from running.
