The Synchronize commands (SYNCOBJ, SYNCIFS, and SYNCDLO) and the Synchronize Data Group File Entry (SYNCDGFE) command provide the ability to limit the size of files or objects transmitted during synchronization with the Maximum sending size (MAXSIZE) parameter. By default, no maximum value is specified. You can also specify the value *TFRDFN to use the threshold size from the transfer definition associated with the data group, or specify a value between 1 and 9,999,999 megabytes (MB). On the SYNCDGFE command, the value *TFRDFN is only allowed when the Sending mode (METHOD) parameter specifies *SAVRST.
When automatic recovery actions initiate a Synchronize or SYNCDGFE command, the policies in effect determine the value used for the command’s MAXSIZE parameter. The Set MIMIX Policies (SETMMXPCY) command sets policies for automatic recovery actions and for the synchronize threshold used by the commands MIMIX invokes to perform recovery actions. When any of the automatic recovery policies are enabled (DBRCY, OBJRCY, or AUDRCY), the value of the Sync. threshold size (SYNCTHLD) policy is used for the MAXSIZE value on the command. You can adjust the SYNCTHLD policy value for the installation or optionally set a value for a specific data group.
