Library and directory selection rules (object entries and IFS entries) are not needed to identify objects to include in user journal replication. However, objects journaled to the journal that you always want excluded from replication must be identified by exclude selection rules.
Include selection rules are still required for:
-
Objects that cannot be journaled to a user journal (for system journal replication)
-
To identify objects with differences to ignore during auditing
-
For objects that you want to replicate from the system journal rather than the user journal for performance reasons.
