In legacy cooperative processing, record and member operations of *FILE objects are replicated through user journal processes, while all other transactions are replicated through system journal processes. Legacy cooperative processing supports only data files (PF-DTA and PF38-DTA). This configuration also requires properly configured data group object entries and data group file entries.
When a data group definition does not meet the requirements for default cooperative processing (MIMIX Dynamic Apply) but still meets legacy cooperative processing requirements, any PF-DTA or PF38-DTA files properly configured for cooperative processing will be replicated using legacy cooperative processing. All other types of files are processed using system journal replication.
Because legacy cooperative processing requires that the data group definition specify *SYSJRN for Cooperative journal (COOPJRN), it cannot be used in a data group that uses the best practice of multithreaded database apply processing.
It is recommended to use MIMIX Dynamic Apply for cooperative processing. Existing data groups configured to use legacy cooperative processing can be converted to use MIMIX Dynamic Apply. For more information, see Requirements and limitations of legacy cooperative processing.
