Default options in MIMIX result in a new configuration that replicates data in the following ways:
-
Application groups must be configured first, and provide operational control for starting, stopping, and switching replication processes.
-
Shipped default values for new data group definitions will associate the data group with an application group, which must exist at the time the data group is created.
-
Both the system journal and a user journal are used to cooperatively process logical and physical files, data areas, and data queues that are journaled and configured for replication.
-
The user journal employs a remote journal environment to transmit journal entries to the target system.
-
Shipped default values result in system journal replication of IFS objects
-
The system journal is used to replicate other types of library-based objects. Multiple data groups share a job that reads and sends the journal entries to be replicated to the target system.
-
For user journal replication, shipped default values will result in multithreaded database apply processing. Database apply processing will not acquire a lock on file members and will immediately apply transactions for objects under commitment control. MIMIX will disable constraints on the target system when replication is active.
