A new configuration of MIMIX that uses shipped defaults for all configuration choices will use remote journaling support for replication from user journals. Default configuration choices will result in physical files (data and source) as well as logical files, data areas, and data queues being processed through user journal replication, and the use of multithreaded database apply processing for database files. All other supported object types and classes will be replicated using system journal replication. You can optionally use other replication processes as described in Table 4.

More Information

Objects of type *FILE, extended attributes:

  • PF (data, source)

  • LF

Default: cooperatively processed files via user journal

Object entries and

File entries

Identifying logical and physical files for replication

Other: user journal replication via journal-centric configuration of *FILE objects

Only need object entries for certain exceptions and to exclude

Other: For PF data files, legacy cooperative processing 1. (For PF source and LF files, system journal)

Object entries and

File entries

  • *FILE, other extended attributes

Default: For other files, system journal

Object entries

Identifying library-based objects for replication

Objects of type *DTAARA

Default: cooperatively processed via user journal1

Object entries and

Object tracking entries

Identifying data areas and data queues for replication

Other: user journal replication via journal-centric configuration of *DTAARA objects

Only need object entries for certain exceptions and to exclude

Other: system journal

Objects of type *DTAQ

Default: cooperatively processed via user journal1

Object entries and

Object tracking entries

Other: user journal replication via journal-centric configuration of *DTAQ objects

Only need object entries for certain exceptions and to exclude
Other: system journal Object entries

Objects of type *LIB

Default: system journal

Object entries

Identifying library-based objects for replication

Other: user journal replication via journal-centric configuration of *LIB objects Only need object entries for certain exceptions and to exclude

Other library-based objects

Default: system journal

Object entries

Identifying library-based objects for replication

IFS objects

Default: system journal

IFS entries

Identifying IFS objects for replication

Other: cooperatively processed via user journal1

IFS entries and IFS tracking entries

Other: user journal replication via journal-centric configuration of IFS objects

Only need IFS entries for certain exceptions and to exclude

DLOs

Default: system journal

Identifying DLOs for replication

1User journal replication can be configured for either remote journaling or MIMIX source-send processes. However, MIMIX source-send processes and legacy cooperative processing for PF data files are not compatible with MIMIX best practices or default values for new data groups.
