Some variation exists in how MIMIX performs common operations such as moves, renames, deletes, and restores. The variations are based on the configuration of the data group entry used for replication. In a data group with a journal-centric configuration, processing variations exist to address starting or ending journaling, or changing where a replicated object is journaled.
Configurations specify whether these operations are processed through the system journal, user journal, or a combination of both journals. Most operations for journaled files, objects, and IFS objects can be processed through the user journal except for a few operations, such as non-journaled creates and objects moved or restored into the replication name space.
For IFS objects, user journal replication offers full support of create, delete, move, and rename operations that occur entirely within the replicated name space. User journal replication also offers full support of these operations for data area and data queue objects that occur entirely within the replicated name space.
