When a data group definition meets configuration requirements for legacy cooperative processing and data group object and file entries are properly configured, files created on the source system will be saved and restored to the target system by system journal replication processes. The following briefly describes the events that occur when files are created that have been defined for legacy cooperative processing:
-
System journal replication processes communicate with user journal replication processes to add a data group file entry for the file (ADDDGFE command). The file entry is added with the status of *HLD.
-
A user journal transaction is created on the source system and is transferred to the target system to dynamically add the file to active user journal processes.
-
Journaling on the file is started if it is not already active.
-
System journal replication processes save the created file, restores it on the target system, then communicates with user journal replication processes to issue a release wait request against the file. The status of the file entry changes to *RLSWAIT.
-
The database apply process waits for the save point in the journal, and then makes the file active. The status of the file entry changes to *ACTIVE.
