MIMIX uses data group object entries to determine whether to process transactions for data area (*DTAARA) and data queue (*DTAQ) object types. Object entries can be configured so that these object types can be replicated from journal entries recorded a user journal (default) or in the system journal (optional).
Shipped default values for new data groups and data group object entries will result in cooperative processing of *DTAARA and *DTAQ objects through the user journal. While user journal replication, also called advanced journaling, has significant advantages, you must decide whether it is appropriate for your environment. For more information, see Planning for journaled IFS objects, data areas, and data queues.
You can optionally configure a data group to use a journal-centric configuration for *DTAARA or *DTAQ objects, or both.
You can optionally configure object entries which identify *DTAARA and *DTAQ objects for system journal replication so that you can also specify to omit object data from replication. Cooperative processing and omitting data content are mutually exclusive configuration choices for data group object entries.
For detailed procedures, see Configuring data group entries.
