The value specified for System 1 object (OBJ1) in a data group IFS entry explicitly identifies one or more IFS objects for consideration and implicitly identifies the parent objects within the path to the specified object. Table 21 shows an example of implicitly and explicitly identified objects.
When evaluating journal transactions for objects identified by data group IFS entries, object replication (QAUDJRN) will process the implicitly identified parent objects as follows:
-
Create operations for an implicitly defined parent object are replicated when an explicitly defined object below that parent is created.
-
Move/rename operations of an implicitly defined parent object that is within the configured namespace or that would cause the parent object to be moved into the configured namespace are replicated.
-
Move/rename operations that would cause an implicitly defined parent object to no longer be part of (moved out of) the configured namespace are not replicated.
-
Delete operations for an implicitly defined parent object are not replicated.
