The MXDGSTS outfile contains status information which corresponds to fields available on the Work with Data Groups (WRKDG) command.

The Work with Data Groups (WRKDG) command generates new outfiles based on the MXDGSTSF record format from the MXDGSTS model database file supplied with MIMIX. The content of the outfile is based on the criteria specified on the command. If there are no data groups that match the criteria specified, the file is empty.

Usage notes:

  • When the value *UNKNOWN is returned for either the Data group source system status (DTASRCSTS) field or the Data group target system status (DTATGTSTS), status information is not available from the system that is remote relative to where the request was made. For example, if you requested the report from the target system and the value returned for DTASRCSTS is *UNKNOWN, the WRKDG request could not communicate with the source system. Fields which rely on data collected from the remote system will be blank.

  • If a data group is configured for only database or only object replication, any fields associated with processes not used by the configured type of replication will be blank.

  • See WRKDG outfile SELECT statement examples for examples of how to query the contents of this output file.

  • You can automate the process of gathering status. If you use MIMIX Monitor to create a synchronous interval monitor, the monitor can specify the command to generate the outfile. Through exit programs, you can program the monitor to take action based on the status returned in the outfile. For information about creating interval monitors, see the Using MIMIX Monitor book.
