Replication of IFS objects in an independent ASP is supported through default replication processes and through MIMIX Advanced Journaling support. However, there are differences in how to configure for these different environments.
For IFS replication by default object replication processes, you do not need to identify an ASP group in a data group definition because an IFS object’s path includes the independent ASP device name.
However, for IFS replication through Advanced Journaling support, you must specify the ASP group name in the data group definition so that MIMIX can locate the appropriate user journal.
If you are using Advanced Journaling support and want to limit a data group to only replicate IFS objects from SYSBAS, specify *NONE for the ASP group parameters in the data group definition.
