MIMIX supports using secure sockets layer (SSL) connections for remote journals (RJ). The transfer definition includes a parameter for SSL connections to communicate with remote journals, which creates or updates the Relational Database (RDB) directory entry associated with the transfer definition.

Note: This support does not modify any of the existing Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) configurations or certificates. Before changing the transfer definition to use SSL, ensure that the DCM configuration or certificates are completed between the systems involved in a MIMIX network.

The following is a list of commands that contain new elements and parameters to establish the connection:

  • Create Transfer Definition (CRTTFRDFN): Includes an element “Use SSL for directory entries” of the RDB parameter to define whether or not SSL is used in the RDB directory entry.

Note: This command is only available on the management system.
  • Change Transfer Definition (CHGTFRDFN): Includes an element “Use SSL for directory entries” of the RDB parameter to define whether or not SSL is used in the RDB directory entry.

Note: This command is only available on the management system.
  • Retrieve Transfer Definition (RTVTFRDFN): Includes a parameter “USESSLRDB” that allows you to determine whether or not SSL is used for the RDB directory entry.
