If you allow MIMIX to generate the target journal definition when you create a remote journal link, MIMIX implements the following naming conventions for the target journal definition and for the objects in its associated journaling environment. You may have target journal definitions with this naming convention that were created on previous releases of MIMIX.
The two-part name of the target journal definition is generated as follows:
-
The Name is the first eight characters from the name of the source journal definition followed by the characters @R when the journal definition is created for MIMIX RJ support. If a journal definition name is already in use, the name may instead include @S, @T, @U, @V, or @W.
-
The System is the value entered in the target journal definition system field.
For example, if the source journal definition name is MYJRN and you specified TGTJRNDFN(*GEN CHICAGO), the target journal definition will be named MYJRN@R CHICAGO.
The target journal definition will have the following characteristics and associated new objects:
-
The Journal name will have the same name as the source journal.
-
The Journal library will use the first eight characters of the name of the source journal library followed by the characters @R.
-
The Journal library ASP will be copied from source journal definition.
-
The Journal receiver prefix will be copied from the source journal definition.
-
The Journal receiver library will use the first eight characters of the name of the source journal receiver library followed by the characters @R.
-
The Message queue library will use the first eight characters of the name of the source message queue library followed by the characters @R.
-
The value for the Receiver change management (CHGMGT) parameter will be *NONE.
