Physical files, logical files, and join logical files with keyed access paths that are not unique and which specify *IMMED for their access path maintenance (MAINT) attribute are eligible for optimized access path maintenance. This includes files with shared access paths that are not uniquely keyed.
For files that are otherwise eligible but which specify delayed (*DLY) access path maintenance, MIMIX will track record changes to the physical file and issue periodic updates to perform delayed maintenance. MIMIX will honor the *DLY value if it was not set by MIMIX and will not attempt to change it to *IMMED when delayed maintenance completes.
Limitations: The following are not eligible due to their nature:
-
Files with uniquely keyed access paths
-
Files that have non-keyed access paths (RRN access)
-
Vector indexes
-
Files with access paths that do not support insert, update, and delete operations, such as those for data dictionary files (*DTADCT).
