Journal standby state is only available if the separate, chargeable feature from IBM (Option 42) is available on the system. If you have this feature, you can enable MIMIX to use journal standby state in data groups that have a numeric value for the Number of DB apply sessions (NBRDBAPY) parameter.
To enable journal standby state in an existing environment, do the following:
-
From the Work with Journal Definitions display, use option

From the Change Journal Definition display, specify one of the following values for the TGTSTATE prompt and press Enter:
-
Specify
*ACTIVE
when the data group associated with the journal definition allows journaling on the target system (*YES
for Journal on target (JRNTGT) prompt). -
Specify
*STANDBY
to prevent most journal entries from being entered into the target journal. Objects are journaled on the target system, but most journal entries are not deposited.
