In this procedure, you specify selection criteria that results in a list of objects with similar characteristics. From the list, you can select multiple objects for which MIMIX will create appropriate data group object entries. You can customize individual entries later, if necessary.

From the management system, do the following to create a custom load of object entries:

  1. From the MIMIX Intermediate Main Menu, type a 1 (Work with data groups) and press Enter.

  2. From the Work with Data Groups display, type a 20 (Object entries) next to the data group you want and press Enter.

  3. The Work with DG Object Entries display appears. Press F19 (Load).

  4. The Load DG Object Entries (LODDGOBJE) display appears. Do the following to specify the selection criteria:

    1. Identify the library and objects to be considered. Specify values for the System 1 library and System 1 object prompts.

    2. If necessary, specify values for the Object type, Attribute, System 2 library, and System 2 object prompts.

    3. At the Process type prompt, specify whether resulting data group object entries should include or exclude the identified objects.

    4. The Cooperate with database and Cooperating object types prompts determine how *FILE, *DTAARA, and *DTAQ objects are replicated. Shipped default values result in user journal replication. To replicate these object types from the system journal or limit which object types are cooperatively processed with the user journal, change the values as needed.

    5. Press Page Down to see additional prompts

f.Ensure that these remaining prompts contain the values you want for the data group object entries that will be created:

      • Omit content

      • Replicate jobs on job queue

      • Replicate spooled files

      • Spooled file criteria

      • Object retrieval delay

Note: Press Enter. More prompts will appear.
      • Keep deleted spooled files (when *YES is specified for Replicate spooled files)

      • User profile status

      • Repl. user profile used date

  5. Press F10 (Additional parameters).

  6. To specify file entry options that will override those set in the data group definition, do the following:

    1. Press Page Down until you locate the File entry options prompt.

    2. Specify the values you need on the elements of the File entry options prompt.

Note: When loading object entries into a data group that uses multithreaded database apply processing, values for the following file entry options cannot be changed: Replication type, Lock member during apply, Apply session, Disable triggers during apply, and Process trigger entries.
  7. If necessary, specify a value for the Attributes to ignore prompt. This parameter allows auditing to ignore detected attribute differences to streamline environments that use non-switchable data groups and data groups whose target node is a replicate node of an application group. For other configurations, this parameter is ignored.

  8. To generate the list of objects, press Enter.

Note: If you skipped Step 6, you may need to press Enter multiple times.
  9. The Load DG Object Entries display appears with the list of objects that matched your selection criteria. Either type a 1 (Select) next to the objects you want or press F21 (Select all). Then press Enter.

  10. If necessary, you can use Adding or changing a data group object entry to customize values for any of the data group object entries.

  11. Synchronize the objects identified by data group entries before starting replication processes or running MIMIX audits. The entries will be available to replication processes after the data group is ended and restarted. The entries will be available to MIMIX audits the next time an audit runs.
