Creating an application group definition - assure_mimix - 10.0

Use this topic to create an application group. Application groups are best practice and provide the ability to group and control multiple data groups as one entity. Default procedures for starting, switching, and ending the application group are also created.

To create an application group definition, do the following:

1. From the MIMIX Basic Main Menu, type 1 (Work with application groups) and press Enter.

2. The Work with Application Groups display appears. Type 1 (Create) next to the blank line at the top of the list area and press Enter.

3. The Create Application Group Def. (CRTAGDFN) appears. Do the following:

   1. At the Application group definition prompt, specify a name.

   2. The Application group type prompt defaults to *NONCLU. This indicates that the application group will not participate in a cluster controlled by the IBM i operating system.

   3. Press Enter.

4. An additional prompt appears. Specify a description of the application group.

5. Press Enter.
