The IBM i 7.3 operating system supports the ability to maintain current data as well as historical data for a table. A system-period temporal table stores current data and an associated history table in the same library stores prior versions of updated or deleted rows. The versioned relationship between the tables is established by an ALTER TABLE statement. An Update or Delete operation to data in the temporal table also causes the previous version to be added as a new row in the history table.
MIMIX supports replication of system-period temporal tables and their associated history tables. Auditing of data within each table is supported.
MIMIX can perform replication of both tables from either a user journal or the system journal, depending on the configuration of the data group.
