If you do not want to use the job scheduling capabilities within MIMIX to schedule audits, you need to ensure that all of the MIMIX rules are scheduled to run on a regular basis using your preferred scheduling mechanism.

Note: Only scheduled audits can be run using a different job scheduler. Scheduled audits select all configured objects associated with the class of the audit. Prioritized audits cannot be run with a different job scheduler. Prioritized audits select only those replicated objects that are eligible for auditing based on their eligibility category and category frequency.

It is recommended that you do the following:

  • Schedule the audits to run from the management system.

  • Schedule all audits to run every day in the same order described for shipped default schedules in the Assure MIMIX Operations book.

  • Specify the same Run Rule command that is displayed when you use prompt option 9 (Run rule) on the Work with Audits display.

  • Address starting and ending the scheduling jobs in your operations at points where you need to start or end MIMIX. The Start MIMIX (STRMMX) and End MIMIX (ENDMMX) commands only address audits scheduled by MIMIX.

  • Put appropriate checks in place to prevent scheduled jobs from starting when MIMIX would otherwise need to be ended (such as during installation).

  • Disable MIMIX scheduling for all audits associated with the data group for which you want to use your own scheduler. For a data group, each audit must have its automatic schedule disabled. Use the Set MIMIX Schedules (SETMMXSCD) command and specify *DISABLED for the State element of the Schedule (SCHEDULE) parameter.
