Part of setting up your model is to create the metabase tables for system control of metadata. When Connect CDC Director installs the metabase tables on the IBM i host, it creates a system-managed journal as well as its receiver (log) in the product library for transaction recovery.
Getting started with IBM i journals requires that you set up multiple items:
Set up IBM i journaling before you install Connect CDC (see the IBM i Installation Guide).
Set the Journaling status (see Check journaling status (IBM i)).
Set change management process options on the Change Selector’s Process Definition Properties (see Advanced tab (IBM i)).
Set the Delete Receiver Exit program options (see About the delete receiver exit program).
