You must now update the version of the model that is in use in Connect CDC MonCon. The kernel components reference an objectified version of the metabase, which must be updated with the changes you just committed in your model.

Note: These sections contain basic information about Connect CDC MonCon. You can also use Connece CDC Console (a command-line version). For more information, see the Advanced User Guide.
  1. In Connect CDC MonCon, select View>Model Update to reference the new version of your model. Connect CDC MonCon ensures that all product components reference this updated version. Model Update is discussed in detail in the Advanced Users Guide.

  2. Run and monitor the Replication request

    1. To start your request, right-click the request in the Connect CDC MonCon Data Movement Requests tree.

    2. Monitor the messages that track the processing of the request on the Command Trace and Alert Messages tabs.

The Command Trace tab displays an OK message confirming the receipt of a command to enable change capture at the source, and the Alert Messages tab displays a message confirming the successful enabling of change capture.

Additional messages may display (for example, a STARTREQUEST command message followed by an OK for the source host; and a CONNECT message followed by a Started Connect CDC Kernel for the target host). Alert messages report a successful connection from the source to the target. Status messages report multiple active components on the source and target.

  3. Select Request>Refresh Statistics to refresh the Statistics window and expand its display for your model and request. Verify that the values for the transaction rows retrieved and sent are as anticipated and match those for the rows applied.
