Use this dialog to remove the Connect CDC metabase from this server. The Connect CDC Director sends SQL to the sending server host machine to remove the replication user ID schema.

Before you remove the metabase, you should disable capture for any tables with change capture enabled. If your tables still have capture enabled when you invoke the Remove Metabase program, the program offers to disable capture on the tables for you.

Note: During the removal of a pluggable metabase, the root user will not be deleted from the root container.

To remove the metabase

  1. Select Remove Metabase from the context menu of your Oracle source.

A message is displayed asking if you want to remove the user.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Click No to remove all metabase tables, procedures, and indexes (go to step 5).

    • Click Yes to remove the user.

  3. In the User ID and Password dialog, specify a user that has SYSDBA privileges. This user is used at the source to execute scripts that remove the Connect CDC metabase.

  4. In the messages that display, specify if you want to remove the tablespace and the user login.

  5. Review the text displayed in the Remove Metabase dialog.

  6. Click OK to remove the metabase.

An output window displays a log of the SQL statements sent and any errors that occur. You can save or print this log, and you can copy selected text from it to the Windows Clipboard.

Upon successful removal, a confirmation message displays.

What happens

  • Removes the replication user schema (if user approves).

  • Removes the replication users default tablespace if no other user is using it as a default or temporary tablespace.

  • Deletes the replication user login to this server (if approved by user). If the user (database login ID) on the Connect CDC Director connection to this source is the replication user, you receive a warning message when you next try to access this server with that connection.
