Moving a server to another host does the following:

  • If the schemas are the same on two hosts, moving a server to another host saves you the time that it takes to create a new server.

  • If the schemas are not the same on both hosts, moving the server affects gate conditions as well as joins, mappings, and distributions.

To move this server to another host:

  1. Right-click the server, then select Move This Server from the menu that displays.

  2. In the dialog that displays, choose a new host.

  3. Click OK. The model displays with the server under the new host.

You can create multiple servers using this procedure. When done, go to Install metabase.
