Before committing the model and distributing copies of its .xml definition files, name and save the model in its proprietary .rsm format.

Note: If your model contains expressions, begin your model name with a letter. (See the System Reference Guide for a full discussion of expressions). In this case, the name cannot begin with a number.

The model name is used for all .xml writes, and it is contained in the .xml itself.

Note: Do not save the model in the Connect CDC Kernel directory.

Until this point, your model has had a default name (see the window label) followed by the status qualifier [test] (see the top branch of the model tree). Test indicates it is a new model or a fully committed model that has changed.

After successfully committing the model, Connect CDC Director changes the status qualifier to [Production], indicating it is ready to distribute data.

If you do not explicitly save the model, you are prompted to do so when you attempt to commit the model.
