From the tables in a database, DMX CDC generates topics in a Kafka target and adds schemas to the schema registry when you establish a CDC connection to a Kafka target. This process requires:

  • A database server source

  • Database tables listed in the EDMM that you want to connect to Kafka

  • Kafka target configured with messages in Schema Registry format

  • DBMS login credentials for a broker account that has topic creation permissions

Note: This feature is only be available to members of the administrator role.
  1. In the same EDMM, select the tables you want to replicate from a database source
  2. Open the context menu, and choose Select for Distribution -> All Checked Tables, as shown below.
