Since this is the first time you have committed your model, you must do a full commit. Since this is the first version of the model, the metabase is effective immediately without waiting for Model Update in Connect CDC MonCon. When you do a full commit, other than the first time or when you switch models, the latest version becomes effective when you execute Model Update in Connect CDC MonCon.
Subsequently, perform a full commit if you want to save the EDMM definition at each sending server, regardless of whether changes have occurred to the sending server since the last commit. Otherwise, you perform an incremental commit. See Perform an incremental commit.
- Right-click the EDMM branch, then select Commit>Full or click the Full
Commit toolbar
button.
The Commit Model dialog displays. All servers that have sending tables are listed in this dialog along with comments about their status. You cannot directly modify the list.
-
Review the Remarks column for each host in the Server name column to make sure the comments do not indicate a problem.
-
Click OK to begin the commit.
-
If the commit is successful, you can update the model and monitor and control your data using Connect CDC MonCon or Connece CDC Console.
-
If the commit is not successful, troubleshoot the problems (see Commit step fails for more information).
-
-
Verify that the following metabase files arrived at each host in this exercise:
-
modelname-dataflow.xml
-
modelname-network.xml
where modelname is the model name without any qualifier or file extension.
